YT Subs Count
Effective
Introduction
You will find below details about the terms and conditions you agree to by using YT Subs Count. I invite you to fully read it and make sure you understand its content prior to signing up to YT Subs Count.
Terms and Conditions
Dae Won Kim operates the website and the YT Subs Count mobile application (the "Service") also known as YT Monetization Analytics Tool (name on the App Store subject to change for search and discovery purposes).
The app is made available to you on an "as is", "with all faults" and "as available" basis.
The app relies on data available via the YouTube API and like any platform built on top of a public API subject to change, I cannot guarantee that the app will function or maintain the same level of service in the future. That is applicable for both free and paid users.
Please read this section carefully since it limits the liability of YT Subs Count. By signing up to use YT Subs Count, your use of the app is at your own discretion and risk. YT Subs Count makes no claims or promises with respect to the quality, the accuracy or reliability of the app, its security, or its content.
To use YT Subs Count you have to log in with a Google account used to manage your YouTube channel. In order for you to access the features offered by YT Subs Count you will need to grant some permissions for the app to access some of your YouTube data. These permissions are subject to change at any time while you use the app.
The purpose of these permissions is to enable the app to access some datasets specific to your YouTube channel needed to power features offered inside the app. For example, accessing your YouTube Analytics data allows the app to run some computations to display the number of subscribers you currently have and show you how far you are from hitting the requirements for monetization on YouTube.
By signing up to YT Subs Count you authorize me to contact you via email. You might for instance receive a "Welcome email" after you first create an account on YT Subs Count. I might also contact you directly via email if you send me a feedback or suggestion via the app or if you email me directly.
Privacy Policy
Why do I need to collect and process some of your data?
The app only collects and processes some of your data to:
- Generate and present personalized insights for you based on your YouTube Channel Analytics data.
- Improve the app experience by analyzing in-app usage and other important events happening inside the app.
What kind of data are stored?
When you sign up to use YT Subs Count, you register with the Google (Gmail) account that is used to manage your YouTube channel. Once you do so, the following data are collected:
A. Personally identifiable data
- First name (as provided on YouTube)
- Last name (as provided on YouTube)
- YouTube channel name
- Country code
- Email address (including email addresses shared as part of the Beta Tester's program)
- YouTube channel image URL
These data are collected to make the app experience possible and make sure you get the best possible support whenever you contact me. For example, I need your email address so you can directly contact me from the app and I can quickly email you back as soon as I receive your message(s).
The country code is just an indication for me to better understand where users are based. This can inform potential developments. For example localizing the app in Spanish could be considered if I suddenly see many users signing up from Mexico.
Your YouTube channel URL is useful to understand if your subscriber count is publicly available or not as this is a requirement to get the app to work properly. Your channel name is displayed in the app on several screens.
You will see your channel profile picture displayed in the app at different spots. Please know that your photo is only stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to my servers. I only store the URL to the photo (the one you already uploaded on YouTube) and the app loads your profile picture from there before saving it in your device's cache (locally) so it loads faster next time you use the app.
B. Analytics data
Once you grant permissions for the app to access your YouTube data, the app is authorized to load data from your YouTube channel (analytics, revenue, user interactions, etc.). Each feature inside the app requires a specific set of data. No data is used, collected or processed outside of the scope of the features offered in the app.
The data stored on my servers by default when you sign up are:
- Subscriber count
- Watch time (past 365 days)
- View count
- Video count
- Video tags exported
For Pro users, additional data can be collected and processed to provide additional insights such as the milestones feature or the predictions feature which collect additional sets of data and display insights based on the processing of this data.
C. Usage data
I may also collect information based on your usage of the app. This is always done with the sole purpose of improving the experience for YT Subs Count's users. Examples: frequency and duration of usage, significant events and encountered errors if the application has crashed, etc. Some of this data is processed by Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
Where are your data stored?
I use Firebase to store your data in a secure way. The tokens required to authorize the fetching of your data on YouTube's servers are never leaving your device for safety reasons. They are not stored on my servers, which protects you from seeing your channel harmed in case YT Subs Count's Firebase database was to be hacked.
Can I request that YT Subs Count deletes all the data collected about me and my YouTube channel?
Yes, you can email me via the contact form which can be found in YT Subs Count's settings tab. Start your message with: "YT Subs Count — Data deletion request" and let me know that you would like to see your channel data deleted. You will need to provide your channel URL so I can find the relevant data to delete. I will then proceed with the deletion of your data in a timely manner and you will get notified once this is done. Rest assured that requesting your data to be deleted will only delete the data on YT Subs Count's servers and your YouTube channel's data won't be impacted at all. Once deleted, if you wish to use YT Subs Count again in the future, you will have to create a new account from scratch.
I have a question about my data
If you have a question about this privacy policy and how your data are collected, used and stored when you use YT Subs Count, please feel free to email me at dw2kim@gmail.com with the subject line "Data question" and let me know how I can help you.
Changes & updates
If YT Subs Count makes changes to Terms and Conditions or Privacy Policy, these changes will be posted on this page in a timely manner. I reserve the right to modify these terms & conditions and/or privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently (at least on every app update).
In case of a business transaction in which a portion or all of YT Subs Count business is acquired, you will be notified as described above in this paragraph.
